If you start in the back, it shouldn't be a problem in smaller races. <br /><br />I have the same feelings about headphones -- most races say they are prohibited -- but for whose safety? I keep one earbud in, and the volume isn't blasting. I never thought to ask and see if I was allowed to do so. I did make a point to start at the back of the pack, so that I did not get into anyone's way. Then as the field got into their pace, I was able to run a regular race. I was not going to break any PR or anything, just enjoying the local running scene. Personally Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
